The Winter is a beautiful time with snow covering everything but Winter has its challenges for raising rabbits outside. Whether its for pets or breeding I strongly suggest bringing your rabbit in to the house. Rabbits water bottles will freeze causing them to stop drinking and the end result isn't good. If your rabbit doesn't have water it will not eat! And it will die! Also the cold air blowing on a rabbit is deadly your rabbit should be covered from wind, rain, snow and serve weather extremes. Your rabbit would also be subjected to outdoor predators looking for food! You could use your garage but again its not going to stop the water dish or bottle from freezing. There are water bottle heater on the market if you only have one or two rabbits, but be careful about electricity hock ups near the rabbit. They love to chew and they will find the opportunity to chew it and possible get electrocuted. One, I feel out of site is out of mind if your kids are tired and forget to visit the rabbit outside it may one starve the rabbit. Or worst open it to diseases. Two make it feel neglected and depressed. Rabbits are social pets and should be interacted with daily! So please bring your rabbit indoors with you and your family make it truly your pet! As always contact me anytime for questions!
