The History of rabbits!
The domesticated rabbit is a descendant of the wild European rabbit. Rabbits were introduced to Britain by the Romans who kept them fenced off warrens and havested their meat and fur. The earliest known records of rabbits in Britain occurred during the 12 Century. They were first described as conies, after the second part of their scientific Oryctolagus cunicius. Rabbits are very adaptable and have become so successful in some areas they are considered to be a pest. Domestic rabbits live for an average of 5-10 years. The European rabbit is found all over Europe, except for the far north and east also inhabits North West Africa. It has been introduced to many other countries including New Zealand, Australia and Chile. It lives in grassland, cultivated land grassy coastal cliffs and woodlands. Wild rabbits are gregarious and a couple of hundred of them may be found in a warren. They are active during dusk, but will come out during the day in undisturbed areas. Rabbits primarily feed on grass and leafy plants, but they will feed on bulbs and twigs when food is scarce. They can also be damaging to young trees and farmers crops.Females may produce several litters a year, usually in the spring and summer. There are 3-9 young in a litter which are born blind and helpless. They emerge from the burrow after three weeks .

All about Mini Rex
Mini rex rabbit are a wonderful breed of rabbits and one of my favorite! They make great pets with there curious personalities and effectionate when they bond with there new owners. They are one of the first breeds I started with. They are a smaller version of the standard rex that weighs in at 7 1/2-10 1/2 lbs.The standard rexes originally appeared as mutations in litters of other types of rabbits in the early 1900's They became an established breed and were accepted by the ARBA ( The American rabbit breeders Ass.) in 1919. Rex means" King" and that is what they are a majestic breed of rabbit. The mini rex is weight is only 3-4 1/2 lbs although they can get to be 5 lbs or more (the standard rex gene pops up evey once in awhlie and you get a bigger bunny). The mini rex is a well muscled rabbit with good shoulders and hip widths. The main feature of a mini rex rabbit is their beautiful and very soft fur. It feels like velvet when you pet it, this is because the longest guard hairs have been bred away and been reduced to the same length as the under coat hairs. Another great thing about the mini rex is there sweet loving temperment!!!
Mini rex colors are -black, blue, castor, chinchilla, chocolate, himalayan, lilac, lynx, opal, red , seal ,tortoise shell, any broken colors bew and otter and rew
